Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

1.1 Agreement

These Terms apply to every project for which PermitMyHouse issues a written proposal (each, a “Proposal”). Acceptance occurs when the Customer signs, electronically accepts, or pays against a Proposal, or otherwise instructs PermitMyHouse to begin work. By doing any of these, the Customer agrees to be bound by these Terms together with our Privacy Policy and Refund & Revision Policy, each of which is incorporated by reference into every Proposal.

1.2 Order of Precedence

If there is a conflict between a Proposal and these Terms, the Proposal controls for the specific project to which it relates. These Terms otherwise govern.

1.3 Who Is the “Customer”

“Customer” or “you” means the person or entity that accepts the Proposal and is responsible for paying for the Services. The Customer may be:

  • The property owner;
  • A general contractor, subcontractor, or builder working on the project;
  • An architect, designer, or other authorized representative; or
  • Any other person or entity authorized to commission MEP engineering work for the property.

If you accept a Proposal on behalf of another person or entity, you represent that you have authority to bind both yourself and that person or entity, and “you” refers to both.

1.4 No Site Account Required

PermitMyHouse does not require Customers to create an online account to receive Services. All project communication occurs by email, file transfer, and direct correspondence tied to the relevant Proposal.

4. Customer Responsibilities

4.1 Accurate Project Information

The Customer agrees to provide accurate, complete, and current information about the property and project, including without limitation:

  • Project address;
  • Property owner name (if different from the Customer);
  • Project type and scope, consistent with the accepted Proposal;
  • Conditioned square footage and other relevant property dimensions;
  • Floor plans, sketches, and existing drawings; and
  • Any jurisdictional or local code requirements known to the Customer.

When the Customer is a contractor, designer, or other representative acting on behalf of the property owner, the Customer represents and warrants that they have the property owner’s authorization to commission the Services and to share the property information described above.

5. Payment & Fees

5.1 Fees

Fees for each project are set out in the applicable Proposal and are payable on the terms stated in the Proposal. Unless the Proposal states otherwise, fees are due in full upon Proposal acceptance and before Work Begins (as defined in the Refund & Revision Policy).

5.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. PermitMyHouse does not store full payment card information. By submitting payment, the Customer agrees to the payment processor’s terms.

5.3 Taxes

The Customer is responsible for any sales, use, or similar taxes, except for taxes imposed on our net income.

5.4 Currency

All fees are stated and charged in U.S. dollars.

18. Cancellation and Record Retention

18.1 By the Customer

The Customer may decline to proceed with a Proposal at any time before signing or paying. Once a Proposal has been accepted and Work Begins, the Customer’s right to a refund is governed by the Refund & Revision Policy. There is no account to close — PermitMyHouse will retain Proposal and project records as described in the Privacy Policy and may delete or archive them on request, subject to legal and professional record-keeping obligations.

19. Survival

The following provisions survive termination: Sections 6 (Refunds), 10 (No Guarantee of Permit Approval), 11 (Intellectual Property), 13 (Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability), 14 (Indemnification), 15 (Governing Law), 16 (Arbitration), and 19 (Contact Information), together with any other provision that by its nature should survive.

20. Website Terms of Use & Data Consent

20.1 Acceptable Use of the Website

By accessing the PermitMyHouse website, you agree to use it only for lawful purposes. You are prohibited from using the site to transmit any malicious software, conduct unauthorized data scraping or mining, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or third-party integrations.

20.2 Consent to Data Collection

By interacting with our website, requesting a Proposal, or submitting contact forms, you consent to the collection, use, and storage of your data as outlined in our Privacy Policy. This includes the use of strictly necessary cookies and analytics tools used to improve website functionality and user experience.

Refund & Revision Policy

Plain-Language Summary

  • Want a refund? Ask before we start working. Once you sign the proposal and pay, you still have a refund window — right up until an engineer or drafter actually opens your project file. After that, we can’t refund work we’ve already done.

1. Full Refund Window

1.1 Eligibility

The Customer is entitled to a 100% refund of the fees paid for a project if a refund is requested after Proposal acceptance and payment but before Work Begins (as defined in Section 2).

1.2 How to Request

To request a pre-work refund, email info@permitmyhouse.com with the Proposal number (or project address) and the words “Refund Request” in the subject line. Refunds are processed to the original payment method, typically within five to ten (5–10) business days of approval.

1.3 Cancellation by PermitMyHouse

If PermitMyHouse decides not to proceed with the project for any reason after Proposal acceptance but before Work Begins, the Customer will receive a full refund automatically.

6. Request Procedures

6.1 Refund Requests

Email info@permitmyhouse.com with:

  • The Proposal number or project address;
  • The email address used to accept the Proposal; and
  • A short explanation of the request.

6.2 Revision Requests

Email info@permitmyhouse.com (or reply to the delivery email) with:

  • The Proposal number or project address;
  • A copy of the AHJ comments or correction letter (for free revisions); and
  • A clear description of the change requested (for paid revisions).

Note: Throughout this document, references to “order” or “order number” should be read as “Proposal” or “Proposal number.”
