If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or submit information to us. Where the law requires your separate, express consent (for example, before we send marketing text messages), we will ask for it separately and will not rely on this paragraph.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages viewed, time spent and how you navigate the Site.
  • Advertising and referral information: the page that referred you, the page where you first arrived, campaign tags in the link you clicked (UTM parameters) and, when you arrive from a Google ad, Google’s click identifiers (gclid, gbraid or wbraid).
  • Form security information: when you submit a form, we record your IP address to prevent spam and abuse.

2.3 Comments

When you leave a comment on our blog, we collect the information in the comment form, your IP address and your browser user agent to help detect spam. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it (Gravatar privacy policy: https://automattic.com/privacy/). After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public next to it.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, such as Social Security numbers, financial account credentials, health information or precise geolocation. Please do not send it to us.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

We and our partners use cookies and browser storage for the purposes below. When you first visit the Site, a cookie notice lets you accept or decline analytics and advertising cookies, or choose by category under “Preferences.” These cookies are active unless you decline them. You can change your choice at any time with this button: . You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work as intended if you do.

4. Analytics and advertising measurement

We use Google Tag Manager to manage the tags on the Site, Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site, and Google Ads to measure which ads lead to requests. These tools collect the device, usage and advertising information described above. In Google Analytics, Google signals are turned off and event data is kept for two months.

When you submit a form after clicking one of our Google ads, we store the Google click identifier with your request so we can tell which ads produce real inquiries and report those results back to Google Ads. If we use Google’s enhanced conversions, a hashed (one-way encrypted) version of your email address or phone number may be sent to Google to measure ad performance; Google does not receive the readable value.
